Thursday Thoughts

Another lonesome night for this twenty six year old,

Starting to feel like an old library book with all my best stories told,

For just a moment I'm everyone's someone treated like priceless gold,

After the climax comes the resolution and I'm back on the shelf waiting for my pages to mold,

For the right girl I'd bet my heart, my back, and my life without ever considering a fold,

I just wanna know real genuine love not the day to day kind thats so easily bartered and sold,

Most I have ever been shown is just some bullshit shwag my friends already ground up and rolled,

Wish this lonely cold prison could become the past and from its dank dark depths my heart is paroled,

Live my happy ending with that angel's smile at my side containing within a beauty untold,

The day I grasp her shaking hand and say those vows will be my life's grandest chapter foretold,

Cuz till death claims me I'll live for her making her happiness my life's goal to uphold.
