Tiffany’s Epitome

For Poetess Darkly’s “Wisteria” Challenge

Tiffany’s Epitome

In 1837 in New York City, opened a store of great finery;
No other was there like it, the incomparable Tiffany’s!
Whether searching for rare gemstones, or china and silverware;
The pinnacle of crafting and uniqueness, could be purchased there!
.
The son of the emporium’s founder, Louis Comfort Tiffany;
Studied art with many great teachers, a painter he desired to be!
He was relatively successful, but in eighteen seventy-nine;
He became President and Art Director of Tiffany’s, there devoting all of his time!
.
He created the famous Favrile Glass, the finest ever known;
Exquisite examples of glassware, in the store were always shown!
Then he decided that exceptional lamp ware, powered by electricity;
Would be sought instead of old gas ones, for they turned on automatically!
.
Of all his designs and creations, the most beautiful he ever made;
Was one known as The Wisteria, the zenith of all lampshades!
Its beauty is totally breathtaking, mouths agape, customers stared;
At Louis Comfort Tiffany’s epitome, this object beyond all compare!
.
.
Tiffany’s finest
Zenith of his creations
Wisteria Lamps

My Dear Lady Marion,

Although you've written a very "shady" comment, I enjoyed it immensely.
Please forgive my irresistible humor.
