Till the End

Till the End
Â
I stare out at the blue silk moon
The dawn will be coming soon
Â
The disillusioned start of another day
When things won’t be going my way
Â
I am slowly sinking in quicksand
And you won’t even lend a hand
Â
The wicked wind it continually blows
And I could use a hand heaven knows
Â
Life came so easy in the years before
That was until you came to my door
Â
I planted a summer garden that won’t grow
Disappointments in life I have come to know
Â
That is my life in these golden years
A river runs from my collective tears
Â
The seasons come and the seasons go
I know I still have some room to grow
Â
I often try to break my burdensome chains
But all of my attempts are always in vain
Â
It’s like I am caught in the pouring rain
With seemingly so little in life left to gain
Â
All the years of pain and of anguish
On tonight’s first star I make my wish
Â
I will seek shelter from the pouring rain
Licks my wounds and bandage all my pain
Â
I will travel this rocky road till the end
And my broken heart I will try to mend
Â
