Poem -
Time Gone By
Transfixed by a clock hanging on the wall
Its relentless movement never to hesitate
Telling the most fundamental truth of them all
That for no one does time ever stop and wait !

The sound of the mechanism hypnotic to me
As I lay here and contemplate much gone by
Knowing it will not be long until what must be
Until eternity claims a soul and this body will die.
................................................................
I reminisce every remaining day on all I've done
Pleased I always made the most of what I've had,
Not being scared or angry at what is now to come,
Of having experienced the best of life I am truly glad.

I often wonder where all the time has gone now I am older ! It seems only yesterday I was 21 and I am now approaching the end of my forties. When my time comes I will at least feel that I made the most of my chance here ! :)

A great write for all the seconds you put into it. Every year we get older and those years seem to go by even faster. I sometimes hate the idea of time though it is based so heavily throughout life. Time slows when we don't want it to and speeds up when we try to live in the moment. Time is in my little girls, man how there growing up so fast. Much love to you on a compellingly relatable write.
