Time In A Bottle
Once I put time in a bottle,
That was many years ago.
Every day it leaked out,
With nothing left to show.
Now I have a new bottle,
More magical than the last.
Time's filled to its brim,
Never to repeat the past.
When time is in a bottle,
It is at your command.
Travel forward or back in,
A destiny in one's hand.
It can't be used for riches,
To feather ones own nest.
Simply morality in a vessel,
No material self interest.
Now time is on my hands,
With endless things to do.
Myriads can be achieved,
To go back and start anew.
I'll generously pour it out,
For all needy and poor.
Time to reverse their plight,
A better life than before.

Greg once again thank you for being so generous and apologies for not replying sooner for I was frozen out when trying to reply a few minutes ago.
Had to reboot the computer but anyway that's by the by.
And my friend I'll tell you what, you are a man I respect among many on here and deserve another poem dedicated to your good self and usually I don't write to order on any given theme these days,
but Greg if you suggest a theme to me I will then write a poem about what you have chosen and write a poem about it and dedicate it to you within a week or hopefully sooner.
That is how much I respect and admire you my friend, for you are a good man with a good heart.
The best.

Jim, many thanks for being so generous and this was an old one I rewrote in a few places and added two new verses to and that Jim Croce song is so beautifully haunting and brilliant so is his Bad Boy Leroy Brown which ole blue eyes sang a version of, I believe.
Great singers and both sadly missed.
Thanks again Jim and respect to you my friend

such a wonderful poem Shaun. If only we could bottle time up. Ease pains and prevent loss. Your poem really makes the reader contemplate on what they would use that bottled time for. It has to be one of (if not the) most understated treasures we all have. Because we tend to forget about it’s importance until something major happens. And we never really consider that we don’t know how much time any of us have left. It really should be treasured, every moment not taken for granted. And that’s what your poem highlights here. How important time isÂ
Beautiful my friend and sorry I am late to the partyÂ

A bottle of time, what a bottle of treasure that would be! The most valuable treasure known to any living thing in all the Universes everywhere. And you handled such a treasure skilfully with your ink. Fabulous poem x
