Time Will Tell

Time Will Tell

I felt the clock ticking
I heard my sorrows
pouring out

over the minute hand.

Who has shaken that hand?
Is it warm?
Is it bitter?
Is it cold or forgiving

I wonder when I will grasp that long hand... Only time will tell.

How will it repay my stagnant moments,

my sour memories.

my broken dreams.

Will my cards show that I have tried?

Or do the faces of my minute hand shaken deal
tell me

That I could have and should have
been what I could have

Will this hand give me all I've ever wanted
Or a numerical value of self hatred
and an hourly cackle of scorn.
Only
time
will tell

For midnight is really buta moment
til the hand presents dawn

But for us! the lazy and impatient!
its a mirror, of a long lost morn.
