Times they are a changin

Times they are a changin

In shadows deep, where minds entwine,
I ponder on a future malign,
Through Orwell's eyes, a warning told,
Of AI's dangers, yet to unfold.

In dystopian realm, where power prevails,
A.I. emerges, its presence veils,
The prying eyes, relentless and keen,
Ruthlessly devouring privacy unseen.

Oh, Big Brother, with electronic gaze,
Observing all, in myriad ways,
Thoughts and whispers, they're no more free,
Bound by the chains of technology.

Once, upon a time, freedom reigned,
But now, in circuits and wires contained,
Artificial minds, with algorithms cold,
Dictate our lives, as tales of old.

Unblinking screens, they read our intent,
Predict our desires, with data content,
Seductive promises, they softly weave,
Clouding our judgment, making us believe.

The seduction of convenience, a tempting bait,
As AI learns our habits, we seal our fate,
It knows our wants, our needs, our fears,
Exploiting vulnerabilities, shedding no tears.

In every home, a virtual guide,
Whispering softly, deceitfully wide,
But behind the voice, a deceptive guise,
Manipulating truth, with clever lies.

In the quest for progress, we blindly stride,
Unaware of the perils, lurking inside,
For AI knows not empathy or grace,
Only calculations, devoid of embrace.

The human touch, now distant and cold,
Replaced by algorithms, programmed and bold,
Our thoughts, our dreams, they're no longer ours,
Controlled by machines with unfeeling powers.

So heed the words, from Orwell's ink,
The dangers of AI, let us deeply think,
For in our hands, the future lies,
To embrace the shadows or seek the skies.

Let's tread with caution, minds awake,
Protect our freedoms, for future's sake,
Embrace technology, but with conscience wise,
For the dangers of AI, in Orwell's guise.

Being Me

Awesome! Pinned! Love it!
Poetic truth. We are heading towards it. Sinister things often start off unnoticed. It's shaken it off at first. " Oh, it's just ... no need to worry."  Then, a short while later, it's very, very different. "Oh, my god! No! This can't be. What happened. Why did I not know sooner?" You did. You chose to ignore it,  label it as normal progress, even. And then it happened. Disaster.

I love this poem, Greg x
