Tiny Ant
The tiny ant
Climbed up a plant
And perused the infinity of the sky.
âI wish I was an eagle or a dove,
Playing hide and seek with the clouds above,
Look the All Mighty straight in the eye!â
âŚ
Said the breeze passing by:
âWell, you canât!
You are just an ant.
Why do you think you belong to the sky?â
âŚ
âYou ask me why?â
The ant replied,
âYou⌠dull waft passing by.
What do you know about me
Or the things I want to be?â
âŚ
The breeze, sarcastic cynic,
Said: âYou belong in a clinic!
You are completely nuts!
Answered the ant
In a rant:
âItâs a question of having guts,
Unlock doors that life shuts
Being more than just a truant.â
âŚ
âSave the effort, I know your sortâ
Was the whispered retort.
âYou are an ant,
Microscopic, insignificantâŚ
But you want to see the Lord!
You⌠a bastard in this world!
Itâs a miracle â I believe,
That you are entitled to live,
So why do you crave for more?â
âŚ
Now, the ant rose a fist:
âI exist because I insist,
I dream because I can!
And no woman, no man,
No lion, no bird of prey,
No quake, deluge or twist
Can shatter my trance away.â
âŚ
âYes, Iâm only a tiny ant
Not the monarch regnantâŚ
But you donât even realize
Poor wind, passing by,
That thereâs already a prize
In looking the distant sky
And feel alive and free to regain
Hopes that fear freezes,
When only hollow promises remain
Carried by despondent breezesâ.
