To Be Or Not To Be

To be or not to be, that is the question;
As lifeās slings and arrows, penetrate the Soul!
Of this cracked and damaged antiquity;
No longer young and whole!
.
Memories of the decades past;
Bring teardrops to my eyes!
So confident and powerful;
No thoughts of my demise!
.
But time has now surpassed this man;
The future seems so bleak!
Tomorrows bring no sunshine;
No aspirations still to seek!
.
Each day is filled with motions;
Daily rotes of perplexity!
Vacillating with the conundrum;
āTo Be Or Not To Beā
.
.
The years pass quickly
All too soon we wake up old
Weeping for our youth

A wonderful sobering look back at our own mortality,Ā well done.
I just had to pin this mate.
God bless and keep safe
John
My Dear Friend John,
These "sobering looks back" at my mortality, are the reason I have a bottle of wine every day, to get "unsobered up".
All joking aside, thank you for your most heartfelt comment.
God bless and keep you safe too.
All my love,
Larry xxx

Ever since I got a mortgage, I began to age rapidly, not by days but by months, I use to be 12, now, well, now I'm not.
Great awareness poem Larry and now more than ever, the old feel more vulnerable, it's so sad.
My Dear Friend Gerard,
When it comes to mortgages, I am very envious of people of means, because instead of "aging rapidly", they make double payments, and pay their mortgages off rapidly.Ā But those of us struggling just to meet our monthly obligation, age very quickly.
Thank you for a great comment, and humorous metaphor.
All my love,
Larry xxx
Larry this is the greatest
poem you have ever wroteĀ
your masterpice of all times
many stars and likes for ever
wow all star write and pinned
My Dear Friend Greg,
I am so honored that you deem this "the greatest poem you have ever wrote".Ā But in all fairness, it can be no more than "the second greatest", the greatest being the one I wrote Linda on our Wedding Day.
All my love,
Larry xxx
'Tis true! The years fly by...and the older you get the quicker they go. Great poem, Larry. Hope you and Linda are keeping wellĀ x
Our Dear Lisa,
Even though Linda and I have been very fortunate, and our looks belie our age, we cannot turn back the clocks of time, and fool the years that we have lived.Ā We look back, pining for our youth.
Thank you for beautiful comment.
All our love,
Linda and Larry xxx
