to expect nothing

it is sad to expect nothing
very sad!
 
no light, no shadows
no flowers, no colours
no words, no words of poetry
no songs
no music of the heart
just nothing!
 
as if we were
abandoned planets
floating in a universe
without harmony, without dreams
as if love and hope
have never existed
as if that person from whom
we expect nothing
is of no importance
in our lives
like a place where we arrive
only to leave later
taking nothing, leaving nothing
just nothing!
 
to avoid disappointments
we prefer to feel nothing
that is very, very sad!
