Poem -

To have a million likes

I am not going to eat today, nor tomorrow

I want to starve like the children on TV

Those children on screen with cameras and lights and a production team that bring us the latest dying child to our screens

I want to starve, to be thin, to have my own production team

To bring my suffering to the big screen, maybe I will be famous

That starving child on TV, I will have a million likes on Facebook

Yes, I will starve myself today, tomorrow, until I die

It will be worth it to get on TV

Now where do I send my CV.

Welcome to today's 'modern' society Gerard.
For it's the 21st century and we as a species have learnt nothing, nothing as in regards to basic compassion towards others.
They seem more interested in viewing countless eight second video clips on TicTok rather than live in today's reality where the news is-God forbid-half an hour long!
Great powerful write and your message hits home and never lost on this reader and thanks for sharing.
