Today I'm Smiling

Today I'm Smiling

Today I'm smiling
Today I'm high
I noticed the light and the pale blue sky
I saw your face reflected in the glint of sunlight
On the crest of a wave
Today was a good day.
Thoughts ran like rivers down sinewy mountain tracks
I hooked them and played with them a while
Reflections of your smile

Chinks of light pierce the armoury walls
Dispelling darkness.

Heart dares to hope
Mind intervenes
Needing defined parameters

I push it aside
Today I'm smiling.
