Poem -

Tokens of love

No-one sees the jewels he gives her.
Amethyst bruising wrists and arms.
On her pale face blood red rubies mingle
With the diamonds cascading down her cheeks.

She welcomes, treasures, his gifts,
Hiding them away from prying eyes.
She is saddened as they fade
Believing them to be tokens of his love.
