Poem -

Tonight I'm Going to Make Things Right!

The time had come in the middle of the night,

‘Tonight I’m going to make things right’.

He picked up his coat and started on his way,

Travelling to where his precious wife lay.

He was getting closer as he walked in the night,

‘Tonight I’m going to make things right’

Nearing his home he picked up his pace,

A look of delight shot across his dark face.

The view of his home came into his sight,

‘Tonight I’m going to make this right’

Lightning struck hard as he paused at his door,

‘What on earth could I be waiting for?’

The house was in darkness, not one single light

‘Tonight I’m going to make this right’

Travelling up the stairs he began to sneer,

His wife was in bed crippled with fear.

He opened the door, his wife got a fright

‘Tonight I’m going to make it right’

He noticed the fear dwelling in her eyes,

It was then his anger began to rise.

Hands were wrapped around her neck so tight

‘Tonight I’m going to make it right’

The whites of her eyes started to go red

And that’s when he realised his precious wife was dead.
