TOUGHT BY MUM AND DAD

I looked at my watch to find out the time 
When out of my head popped up this interesting rhyme
I'm not sure if it was my mum or maybe my dad
One of them was teaching the time to me their lad

I mastered the art of time telling straight away 
I asked them politely if I could go out to play
Both mum and dad asked if I had tied my shoe
As it was still untied shoe tying lessons was the next thing to do

Half an hour later I learnt how tying shoes was done 
I asked my parents if I could now have some fun 
Both of them chuckled when they said to me 
 "Not at the moment son it's soon time for tea"
