Poem -

Train

- Tucked yet frayed, her bible page
Long day and close at hand.
- I scoot to make room,
I just assume,
And the cripple chooses to stand.

- I see her doting; she can’t hold back
Let’s take a wild guess.
- I’m impressed with the ownership
Of the public display,
Peeking in to see her cherished pet.

A cat in a cardboard carry-on. And by that I mean a box..
With a heart drawn on top -
And a one-legged man
And she mouths her prayers nonstop.

This is the day, this is the place
A silent observer with a sullen face.
Hidden incisions in sensitive skin
Penetrating deep within.

Penance is a virtue
And pride a choice
And public profession, the proper voice.

To them, what am I?
And together, we ride.

I like to watch people. When they are alone to themselves you can really see the real person! Good job, Anthony
