TRANSPORTING THE MONA LISA

The item I carried was handled with care
Picking up the pieces would be too much to bear
Such responsibility was solely to me
Transporting the Mona Lisa from A to B

I tried to take a selfie to show my best mate
Couldn't get to my phone so he would have to wait
Hard to believe I had something so priceless in my hands
Little wonder then I had such sweaty glands

I arrived at the scheduled time half past four
To report at reception by the main door
What happened next was too much for me to take
The receptionist had gone for her daily tea breakĀ

How this story ended I am not at liberty to say
However I will be mighty relieved at the end of the day
