Trapped

I am still a young man in my twenties, living in this body very old;
I have so many stories yet to play out, that never will be told!
My mind still has the sharpness, of a very pointed tack;
But the ability to respond to its impulses, is all I really lack!
.
Whoever coined the old phrase, “youth is wasted on the young”;
Was spot on with their assessment, truer words were never sung!
For although I’ve retained my youthfulness, I’m imprisoned in aged ruins:
I would love to watch more sunsets, but I’ve seen too many moons!
.
The frustration is unbearable, where did time so quickly go?
Seems like yesterday I was a school kid, not a thought how old I’d grow!
But today, there is no escaping, I’m “Trapped” forever within myself;
A young man in this ancient armor, so soon to end up on a shelf!
.
.
This young man trapped
In his body very old
Wise but powerless

Dear Larry,
oh so true. My mother told me several years ago when she was in Walmart she passed a mirror and it took her a minute to realize that it was her in the mirror. And while she was looking she ran into a pole, then a man passed her and said, I saw that!? It was funny indeed! Enjoyed. God Bless!
Dear Terry,
I was in a Walmart a few years ago, and ran into a Slav. Then we both tried to figure out who had the right of way in the aisle.
See what I was talking about? I'm an old fart with a juvenile sense of humor.
Glad you enjoyed it. Thanks for the comment.
Hugs, Peace and Love,

Yes Larry, where does it go ?

Dear John,
When we are young and rash, we feel like life will last forever, but all too quickly, we grow old, and pine for our youth.
Peace and Love,
