~~Trapped Somewhere between

~~Trapped Somewhere between

Where have you gone friend sun?
We used to talk for hours
Sitting under the Juniper tree, with no burdens
I like the snow for looking at
White and pretty in the sky coming down
But it’s cold to the touch and fades quickly
Leaving a ghostly illumination to cover me
Without you the world moves in slow motion
The day is trapped in the murky hole
 Of a melancholy heartless lover;
  Staring back with indifference
And the sky is troubled and full of regrets
With longing eyes I wait to see you again

Hey Chris! I have to say this poem is very beautiful and I feel a hint of pain beneath your words. That is just how I interpret it. I guess that is the beauty of poetry...I could be completely wrong but I do love these lines:

~~I like the snow for looking at

Leaving a ghostly illumination to cover me

You are an amazing writer! I have missed you!!

Hey Cherie thanks for making comment on this one, it came out a lot more gloomy than I anticipated it would, upon re-reading; some of them write themselves it seems...I def. get down in winter though when light isn't around, I've heard about the light thing and have one about 3 feet in front of my head and 4 feet above me, as we speak, does that work for you as well?....thanks again for encouraging comment, how is Tony doing after the surgery?  I know he's watching the game, lol... go Cowboys!

Val how are you?  I don't think your wrong at all, I saw it too when I read it as a reader; the tone is very heavy and dark...it was a stream write for the most part, I really didn't set out to write on anything in particular, but I was just in the mood to write something down on paper, and the words obviously reflected my mood at the time... Val to be honest I don't know how poetry works or how to control it for the most part, it just appears; I'm not sure how you write your beautiful verses but I love reading them

some of mine come out flat and irrelevant (to me anyway) and some interesting as hell...I think I appreciate other peoples work more than my own, I tend to over analyse mine...thanks for saying that at the end, very sweet of you and encouraging as well...have good day Val

Hi Chris! I am doing okay...taking it easy and watching the football games!

I know how it is to over analyze or be critical of your own work. I am like that too and sometimes very hesitant to post most things I write. I can say that the poetry I have read of yours never appears to be flat or irrelevant. I always seem to find something in your words that I can relate to and I think that is definitely talent. I even remember how much I loved reading your work from before which usually doesn't happen with me because I have a horrible memory ha. I just wanted to say I love your writes so keep writing...especially if it isn't about anything particular because for some reason those seem to be the best kind! I hope you are having a great day!! Much Love to You!!

good-day me mate Barry (did I sound Aussie? lol)  how is the weekend treating ya...my friend I was born in the tropics and came to Canada as a boy, after all these years I still haven't gone over to the dark-side and embraced winter; although I ski and ice-skate...after December it's a struggle for me; dark cold days hit you like a punch in the gut, brother...I def. see myself on a beach somewhere with write sands all around the sound of the waves the smell of fish on the barbeque right beside me tossing back a few cold Fosters in the shade and yes the unrelenting sun is tampered by the cool trade winds rolling that suddenly roll in off the sea...lol that's it I'm booking a ticket to the islands, later amigo...hey thanks for comment...  ttyl

Val I just saw your comment, thanks for saying that, I'm appreciative...lol I hope you're not a Cowboys fan cause they got JOBED!  Dez Bryant made that catch and made about 10 football moves, the NFL officiating is a JOKE, and I'm a Steelers fan...sorry about the rant, thanks again...cheers

I tried to reply but for some reason my computer is acting up again I don't know what is going on!! I cannot believe you are a Steelers fan!! My family is from PA and I grew up as a baby being a Steelers fan!! Since I am in Tx I must say I had to cheer for the Cowboys since my Texans didn't make it ugh but I am going for the Colts...they are my other team so at least one of them made it!! Right now I am watching the Ducks play!!

Yeah I was convinced the Steelers would win this year, then Bell got hurt; oh well...I used to be a Cowboys fan many years ago, before Jerry Jones took over that team; sure they won, but I lost interest; what can you say about Jerry? I'm not a fan...Colts huh?  wow! not a bad pick but they are going into New England; I'm shaking my head, Val...it's gonna be tough...honestly I can't see anybody beating the Seahawks though, twelfth man rules and that is one hell of a football team...hey I am a huge Andrew Luck fan though and would not be disappointed in the least to see that team go to the Superbowl...enjoy duck watching, I think all the ducks out here are in hibernation...ttyl Val; missed din din...hey your poetry is crackling, always like the way you write

Hey Cherie, how are u? you scared the heck out of me just now...I just got the beginning part of the message about T...anyway, sleep is always good but the fever and infection part understandably is worrying...keep praying though sis as will a lot of people I'm sure, around here, I know I will...was looking for his poems today and just assumed he was having the operation, today... I know why you're worried but try your best not to, I understand that the operation is one that will help him in the long run and the most important thing to him is your positive presence and energy....I don't know if you remember but my uncle got ran over by a truck about a year or so ago and is still recovering, it was dicey for a while with him but he's coming along, he will tell you though that if his wife wasn't around to support him, well let's said the reality would have been different, funny how us humans always go back to basic needs in times of trouble, just having a good woman like you at his side makes all the difference, so quit worrying...hey I feel bad for Tony for what happened to the Cowboys, men they got JOBED...hey Cherie, I'm serious please don't worry and stay positive...ttyl  got to eat, I'm starving right now, lol
