Treasures Of The Leprechaun

Last March I found a Leprechaun, asleep on Saint Patrick’s Day;
He woke up and saw me coming, then tried to run away!
But I had a special net designed, to stop him in his tracks;
I threw it and it landed square, as he fell upon his back!
.
He wriggled and he squirmed a lot, but I had him dead to rights;
He gave up and then he said to me, “You’re a lad that’s very bright”!
I knew he would try to trick me, enticed with a bag of gold;
I said, “Tis not great riches that I seek”, and this to him I told!
.
“I want two folks from across the sea, a good man and lovely lass”;
“Whom I can have a dearest friendship with, and forever will it last”!
He said “In all my years I’ve never heard, a wish unselfish and so true”;
“You’ve made me cry, I have a pair, that would be perfect just for you”!
.
“In Ireland there lives a man, with a heart as pure as gold”;
“And an English lass with beauty chaste, they’re in love I have been told”!
“You’ll find in them all that you seek, they will give their hearts to you”;
“And if you’re ever in an hour of need, their love you will feel too”!

“I give you now both of their names, Lorna Caizley and Jason Brown”;
We shook hands and then he jigged away, heading into town!
And just as he had promised, my wish soon came to be;
My poetic soulmates Lorna and Jason, became a part of me!
