Tribute

He liked her and she liked him
the first time they felt something stronger than a whim
oh my young heart how he took my breath away
my first love, I saw him at school every day
we passed notes just to be in contact
oh how he made my heartbeat contract
he was the first boy I truly loved the first I truly felt for
it only lasted for a year although it always felt like more
and although I don't feel for him and I'm in a different place
I will always have a special spot for him and the memories of our childish chase 
So as I metaphorically wave goodbye to this crucial part of my life
and this amazing person who at one point had me convinced we would be husband and wife
I blow a kiss mentally
and say farewell lovingly
