Tribute to Prince (And the Doves cry now)

Tribute to Prince (And the Doves cry now)

And the Doves cry now
I hoped it was a lie

I wanted to cry

Thank you for the purple rain
When I first witnessed you
I could not believe it

You were so different
I was blown away

All the Critics Loved U in New York

You changed my viewpoint on music
Thank you for the joy and purple rain

R.I.P.
You are OFF to see the beautiful ones....

Speaking from the Twin Cities.  This has been a terrible loss.  I'm going down to First Avenue in a few minutes where many people of gathered to pay their respects.

Wonderful tribute...

We the blessed generation had alot of wonderful artists and with they're lyrics they were our musical teachers and leaders...

Gone too soon.  I'm very much devastated.  I never thought I would grieve so much for passing of  a celebrity..  I went to the theater yesterday to see Purple Rain on the big screen for the zillionth time.  It was so emotional.  My whole body was tense thinking that he is gone.  Beautiful poem.  I know how you feel. Thank you.

Bahar, good to see your work, and I love the poem, an understated honest tribute to an icon, as a member of the 'greatest generation' I felt a real loss with his passing, I am by no means a delusional celebrity watcher  feeling that I knew these folks, but gosh darn it, I will miss this dude for real, love the song When Doves Cry it is my favorite song, and I saw the movie, Purple Rain and Under a Cherry Moon, when it came out, waaay back when.... not quite sure why his sudden passing had me so emotional, but perhaps that is a good thing, and should not be over-analyzed;  his music did connect organically to a large segment of a generation in some way and will live on, I suppose...enjoyed the excellent tribute, Bahar....hope you are well, really good post
