Troubles of Love

Amongst the doubt and confusion,
I must confess, I am lost.
My head is screaming, heart is whispering,
Which path I travel, it shall cost.

Within the comfort of safety,
I know which road I take.
But then my heart is louder, my mind is doubting,
And in the end I break.

His words are a soft lullaby,
Of beauty and of home.
My love is growing, my mind is floating,
And no more am I alone.

Yet at times I need to turn,
To turn away and hear.
I need to know my future, to see that I’m not losing,
And to wipe away the tear.

Amongst his love and affection,
I must confess, he is my light.
But sometimes I need to step back, to know that,
He will always be by my side.

Hello, Sophie;
This love of which you speak could be the love you have for one special guy, or the love you have for God and He, in turn, for you.
Either way, it is a beautifully well rendered poem rife with sweet sentiments.
A good abcb rhyme scheme helped this to flow quite smoothly when read aloud.
Well done and best of luck to you always.
Happy Easter to you & yours,
~Dean Kuch ?

Hi Dean,
Many thanks for your kind words!! It was about my boyfriend. I'd asked for a step back to clear my thoughts - I think it's best sometimes to understand yourself and know in your heart what is right. We are very much still together! It lasted for a mere 2 days.
Happy Easter to yourself too! Many thanks again :)
