Trust in one instead of ten

Trust in one instead of ten
An open ear
He listened and doesn’t judge
He helps and cares
Without expecting anything in return other than a friend
He didn’t spread my secrets but keeps them locked up in his head
Trust in one instead of ten he says
He didn’t tell my life story
Nor have I told his
For he didn’t share any story of mine and I wouldn’t dream of sharing any of his
Or our dark past and our own regrets
But for he is gone now and only memories of him are in my head
See you again buddy I say well dropping one red rose on his grave
Forever you will live on in my head and in my heart you will stay
