Truths

Truths

Trying to run this impossible race
Counting down my days
As if I knew when my last one was, as if I got to choose.
Sometimes it feels like I'm not really here
Just in some alternate universe praying to finally wake up from this nightmare
What is this place?
Is it hell?
Will I be free?;
If I was to go into that deep sleep,
Will I return here with the rest of the sheep?
At times it feels like my mind is my own torture
Tied up in never ending thoughts of negativity and disappointment
reluctantly moving forward.

AMEN TAMARA!!..... you've touched upon a VERY profound universal truth here..... we ALL feel this way at some point in our lives..,...you've expressed it VERY well..... the loneliness of simply being a human... being alive in a world so filled with the torture of NOT knowing!!..... and it's well within the realm of the poet to lead with the questions that bind us all together!! ~

          ~ " ~ my mind is my own torture
                   tied up in never ending thoughts of negativity....."

Well conceived and BEAUTIFULLY delivered dear poet sister......I believe you are at that point in your life where you are about to make the VERY best friends of your life!!........ Never stop searching... never stop writing and challenging...... you are VERY gifted soul!!..... and I am your cyber- friend and admirer!!......T xo ??✴??✴?✴❤
