Poem -

trying night

I thought I was done expecting you
To come back to me
The way you often do
After what i believed to be our last fight
Almost a month ago
Our worst goodbye
I cast my circle and weeks went by
Before I remembered
The warmth by your side
The hazy blue in your eyes
Until you came back to me
In the middle of the night
Drink on your tongue
“I love you” you would sigh
“No matter how hard I try
No matter who’s by my side
I can’t shake the image of your face
Invading my own personal space”
I put a spell on you
With time it proved true
I don’t know what I’m doing-
I’m lost without you
“I can’t seem to get you out of my head
Alcohol from a bottle glowing red
Bringing someone else to bed,
You’re always there, in my head”
The savory sounds roll off my tongue
“I loved you then
And I love you now”
I’ll probably never stop
As long as you come back to me
Even if only in a dream
