Two-Faced

There you go
Laughing in people's faces,
Pretending to be everyone's friend
Not knowing you're lying to yourself
Everyone knows you're the great pretender.
You wear two faces
Living a double life,
Pretending to be high class
When you really come from the hood
Just like the rest of us.
Tell me something-
How do you live with yourself?
Being caught between two worlds
Losing your true identity
Not knowing who you are anymore.
Everyone else sees through the act
They see someone ashamed,
Ashamed of where they come from,
Sad of the life given
Therefore they pity you.

Growing up in a rough area, there are the few who made it out of their environment. For some of those that did make it out, they changed everything about themselves, forgot about where they came from and pretend to be someone that they're not. While they're putting on acts, everyone can see through them, and see what they really are.
Not being true to one self, losing yourself while trying to be something you're not. Not knowing how others would react if they knew your secret.
