TWO MINUTES TOO LATE

On the day that you were bornÂ
My best friend died
What a horrible accident it wasÂ
His car mangled on the roadsideÂ
I rushed to his sideÂ
Hoping and prayingÂ
That he will surviveÂ
As a stranger preformed CPRÂ
Trying to keep him aliveÂ
As the ambulance siren and lights blazedÂ
I followed closely in the chasteÂ
But faster than I was traveling, my heart raced
While waiting on the doctors pronunciation
I follow signs to labor and deliveryÂ
I was sure on arrival, that I was earlyÂ
Just in time for the birth of my first born babyÂ
But it was just my luck and faith..
I was Two Minutes Too Late
After experiencing this new life
Coming into the worldÂ
Giving God thanks and prayers for my baby girlÂ
My smiles soon turned into tearsÂ
As I reflected on a friendshipÂ
That had lasted for yearsÂ
Torn between two inseparable Love
I longed to stay and hold you in my armsÂ
But my love for my friend was hanging by a threadÂ
So I raced back to the emergency roomÂ
Anticipating good newsÂ
That's when the doctor said, he asked for me
But it was just my luck and faith..
I was Two Minutes Too Late.
