TWO MINUTES TOO LATE

TWO MINUTES TOO LATE

On the day that you were born
My best friend died
What a horrible accident it was
His car mangled on the roadside

I rushed to his side
Hoping and praying
That he will survive
As a stranger preformed CPR
Trying to keep him alive

As the ambulance siren and lights blazed
I followed closely in the chaste
But faster than I was traveling, my heart raced

While waiting on the doctors pronunciation
I follow signs to labor and delivery
I was sure on arrival, that I was early
Just in time for the birth of my first born baby

But it was just my luck and faith..
I was Two Minutes Too Late

After experiencing this new life
Coming into the world
Giving God thanks and prayers for my baby girl
My smiles soon turned into tears
As I reflected on a friendship
That had lasted for years

Torn between two inseparable Love
I longed to stay and hold you in my arms
But my love for my friend was hanging by a thread

So I raced back to the emergency room
Anticipating good news
That's when the doctor said, he asked for me

But it was just my luck and faith..
I was Two Minutes Too Late.

A loving tribute to your close friend and to your new baby.  Sorry for your loss and happy for your new little girl.  Maybe, it happened that way so your little girl would help you with your grief.
