TYGER

TYGER

'Tyger, tyger, burning bright, what fearful symmetry,'
and with your lithe power and wonderful myystery;
just imagine one swipe and you're dead, albeit soft pat,
but we know really that you're just a beautiful cat.

We wear stripes on our shoulders, say how good we are,
perhaps lovers could be graded to show if they're a star;
a bit like hotels, leave shoes outside and we clean,
a welcome gift, a sea view, felt all over like a queen.

Don't forget the king, this is a two-way life my tyger,
even grading, performance, just for him and for her;
you said: 'What is the point of animals, remind us we are
placed in the firmament, one of them may be your avatar.

What immortal hand or eye,' forbade you to even try,
to justify your stripes with whiskers and a dark brown eye.
