~unavoidably green~.

My hair & my stomach
Everything in-between

T'was the whiskey lullaby
That crept into my head

T'was the darkness
That slept within my bed

Covering my skin
Within soft layers of sin

The song playing
Notes I've felt before

T'was the memories
Haunting

That came tapping
On my chamber door

I kissed midnight
Upon the face

T'was an entrance
another time & space

Unavoidably green
My lips now ~ unclean

T'was the whiskey lullaby
That crept into my head

T'was the darkness
That slept within my bed

Unavoidably green
T'was A Nightmare
Haunting~

~jaunting
T'was not A dream.

Liking this one a lot, nardine, the rhythm reminded of 'The Raven' here and there, possibly my favorite all time poem from my def. second favorite all time poet Mr. Poe; but Frost is the man....nardine you're a dynamo incorporating different elements styles, having a keen eye, and staying fresh.....enjoyed
