Unconquerable *a short Epic*
By Magic Bellmore, Queen of Chaos

When they killed him a fire was lit,
A fire within her soul,
The fire grew and grew until she was silent no more,
She knew about all the evil deeds,
The deeds carried out on the high king’s order.
She started to travel but was stopped only hours away,
Some soldiers with the king’s evil crest,
It was painted in blue on their midnight black vest,
She acted so sorry for wandering alone,
But when they turned their backs,
Their lives were gone.
For days after, life seemed a mess,
Then she saw an elf,
Her eyes widened and she followed,
She followed for days,
Until she was extremely dehydrated and starving,
The elf turned around and saved her life.
They came to the rebel forces,
Just in time,
A great battle was about to start,
An army was marching towards the fort,
Blue and black banners held high.
With a great shapeless howl the armies rushed forward,
Hundreds fell before the mighty sword of the warrior of anger,
Eagles,
Hawks,
And crows shrieked up above,
Clearly pleased by the feast that was being laid out,
For all carrion eaters below and above,
By the end of the battle thousands of bodies lay dead,
The carnage of war was not pretty,
But it held a certain beauty for the warrior,
When asked her name she replied I have none,
Named Arielle,
After the great and mighty queen of elves,
She swore on her honour that she would uphold the legacy of the name.
Uphold the honour she did,
Hailed as a hero,
Feared as a warrior and enemy,
Her name was whispered amongst the land,
By the trees,
The grass,
The ever so chattery animals,
Word reached the soldiers,
They cried out to all the gods above and below,
Arielle laughed a high,
Cruel,
Pitiless laugh and hacked them down like they were nothing.
Soon the mighty warrior Arielle was feared,
Feared by friend and foe alike,
A merciless and mighty warrior like her was unstoppable,
When confronted she laughed and said,
I have nothing to lose so lose I shall not,
For your lives depend on me,
The normally fearless rebel leader by the name of Maximus was troubled,
No creature could stand and look into her violet eyes,
Fear was struck into the hearts of any who dared to come near her,
In the heat of battle nothing could match her prowess,
A brave man once dared to court her but her response was not as expected,
She dropped to her knees and cried,
She said I cannot,
I lost my betrothed and for that reason I fight,
Then she got up,
Face streaked with dirt and tears,
And she left not to be disturbed for another few days.
Her emotions were long counted as gone,
When asked if she was ok,
Her response was a hearty chuckle and the mere words,
‘I fell off that cliff years ago’,
The army was enlightened to hear Arielle laughing,
A feast was held that night for they had conquered the five major trade cities,
The rest of the Empire would not do well,
Oh no they would not.
On the morning they were to storm the heavily guarded Beardgarlm Castle a prayer was sent,
May the gods above and below save our pitiful souls,
Was the desperate morning prayer,
Little did they expect,
A dragon in form flew down,
Her name Morning Star,
She was bigger than the castle,
Arielle cried out in joy and the greeted each other like old siblings,
She bounded up to her towering back and secured her position,
Once done, she raised her sword high and cried out “Be Off Army we shall not fall today nor ever”,
The army surged forwards all shouting incoherent battle cries,
The mighty dragon leapt up and struck the wall till it was mere brick rubble and completely defenceless.
The king would not be pleased,
Oh no not one bit,
Morning Star nudged over the east tower and the men heard soldier’s screams,
They cheered but edged a bit more than slightly away,
She roared her challenge to all,
Her challenge was thus,
Defeat daughter of the wind and goddess of plasma,
You shall not die but you will be spared until you become the traitor,
She was an almighty dragon,
Asked if she was the biggest and she replied in a slightly annoyed undertone,
There are ten more about double my size,
The exclamation of disbelief was reasonably louder than the wall crashing,
Why not bring them and we shall crush all that say not.
The largest by the name of phantom, his eye would be the size of her head,
His claw was half the size of her leg,
If he came you would have no day,
If the others came your world would descend into chaos,
I was the biggest dragon they could send but I shall give Arielle charge of one egg,
The hatchling shall grow into a mighty fine beast,
Make sure it does or you will surely fail to conquer the whole land,
I must leave as to help with your night being existent,
I bade thee farewell and wish them the finest luck.
Luck they had indeed,
For the young egg hatched not five days after,
For a youngling named Kade,
The dragon himself was given the name Phoenix,
On account of his dazzling orange scales,
He grew quite fast,
He was talk of the Rebels for weeks after hatching,
Soon he could be ridden,
A saddle was needed,
But no ordinary saddle,
So a prayer was sent to the gods above,
They answered with a magnificent saddle that not even the finest landlord could hope to match,
It was a splendid black leather saddle that would fit for years to come,
It had threads of gold,
And was studded with the finest rubies.
Their first flight they discovered that Phoenix was fast,
Faster than a speeding missile,
His agility was outmatched by no earthbound being,
And when his mind was approached there was no entrance,
Not even the oldest,
Finest,
Elven scholar could match the ironbound control he exerted over his mind.
The upcoming battle the king sent his demonic soldiers to capture the hatchling,
The king made a mistake,
Phoenix flared his wing and roared his challenge but at that moment magic happened,
Unintentional dragon magic,
The servants fell down into a pit so deep you could see magma,
The dragon the buried them alive,
The servants ended up getting out,
But they fled into the darkness of night.
The Rebels cheered for a great victory was won,
But Arielle knew there would be more danger soon,
Worse danger,
She warned Kade and she started to train him,
He was a fast learner,
There was not too much to teach.
The next battle to conquer the largest castle,
With walls three times the size of Phoenix,
None had tried to conquer the unconquerable,
The youngling Kade was not experienced in battle,
So Arielle led the fight,
She rode on Phoenix.
They blasted the walls,
And performed the most difficult manoeuvres,
To avoid the flaming catapults,
The battle raged into the night,
Whenever a soldier saw the flaming streak he would cry out in joy,
The enemy stood no chance while the dragon still lived.
The walls were down and endless enemy were streaming out of the castle,
Arielle swapped with Kade,
So the youngling would blast the soldiers,
While battalions fell to Arielle unconquerable sword,
The night raged into dawn,
When the sun appeared above the horizon,
It was declared,
The had conquered the empire!
The king was dead,
Nobody would save them,
The opposing soldiers gave up,
Nothing stood in the way of Arielle and her students.
