Unforgiving Second

I never last past the unforgiving second.

It seems to notice that my awareness is absent.

Yet I can’t seem to take hold and become victorious.

Just never last past the unforgiving second.

I dream of when this battle will end.

Always chasing the one thing that’s just out of hand.

The unforgiving second we all should try to understand.

The battle has finally drawn to a slowly descending end.

Yet the idea of control had begun to creep inside my mind again.

Do I want to keep fighting knowing I’ll end up here once again.

Chasing the unforgiving second.

The one eluding me as before.

As the burning flames of war descend and become forgotten ashes on the floor.

I reach out once more to try and take grasp of this unforgiving second I so truly adore.
