Unnatural Disaster

Unnatural Disaster

The chaos in my mind is a storm upon the sea, Each crashing wave enveloping the darkest parts of me. They've no defined direction but just tumult to and fro, And just like me they cannot see or tell which way to go.

The fury in my mind is a beast no one can break, I fight to keep it in me, locked and hidden in it's cage. Yet the bars meant to dishearten the beast from striking back, Seem to be for the beast in me just fuel to attack.

The madness in my mind is a fire uncontained, Out of control it burns in me, no hope to quench the flame. Left to itself, it only spreads, and in a moment's time, Beauty I once held in me is but ashes left behind.

The damage in my mind is a nation wracked with war,       So weary and discouraged I just can't fight anymore.         Loss and devastation are in everything I see,                       Wounds and scars to signify the battle within me.

This is an astonishing description of mental turmoil worthy of nomination to the monthly contest ! I wonder if the piece would have benefited from some explanation as to the reason for the aforementioned conflict of the mind, and as there is a battle raging I debate whether some glimmer of hope of a resolution to the negative perspective would have been appropriate. The reader requires some understanding of the source of the condition and needs a final conclusion summing up future prospects of remission.

However, this piece shows what talent you have and I look forward to following your poetry progress !!

Great work.

Warmest wishes.  :)

Thank you Richard! I do have many others that end with more hope and provide a better explanation, and intend on posting them soon! This particular one was more about giving an epic picture of the inner turmoil itself.
