Unrequited

Unrequited

Is it kindness or cruelty,
that I once ran my wanting over your skin?
For I have tasted your kiss,
and lost myself in it.
your fingertips outline the goosebumps on my heart,
and it promises itself to you.
you - like a cigarette,
leave me unsatisfied;
and accustomed to the want of you.
for every touch I steal,
i know I must pay back in aches.
unrequited - do I love you and suffer?
Or do I leave you and ache?

Its hard to be abandoned, all those feelings just left floating there
Where once they had been returned
- very well expressed
My love to you, nardine.

I learned a very long time ago to never allow anyone to get too close to me. The wall of ice I have built around my heart is miles thick as well as high, and just the way I want it.
A famous poet named Lord Alfred Tennyson once wrote, and I quote:
" 'Tis better to have loved and lost than to have never loved at all"
Personally, I think he was crazy.

Good writing, Laura.
Very emotionally driven and emotive.
