Short Changed on A Long Greek Island

I gave her three and a half weeks
of a single summer,
she gave me a bowl of green olives ..
We made out, on the beach, in a
telephone booth,
and on the deck of an old man’s boat ..
Not to mention, cheap hotel rooms
and those balconies ..
I thought I would not be lonely again ..
But boy was I wrong, I gave her three
and a half weeks,
she gave me a bowl of green olives ..
I gave her, my number and a promise
in return, she gave me
a bowl of green olives and the elbow ..

Like the usage of the repeated stanza. Also I like the mention of the olives, I couldn't really tell you why, either?
.............. Cheers :)Â
Hello, hello Neville! Very interesting write.Â
Thanks
Ooooh..... sounds like she broke your heart, Neville. She was obviously not as nice as you thought she was. Summer loving.
Your poetry, as ever, is a pleasure to read x
For while back then yes, I felt gutted .. like a freshly caught fish down by the quayside .. Mind you, it wasn't an eternity before I found out there were more fish in the sea .. Thanks for tagging along my friend.. x
