untitled.
Dear William,
Your poetry is better than mine
Your poetry is architecture
Driven and written by design
While my poetry is
Jazz and drunken
Spit in the bottom of
A bottle clanking at my side
Your poetry is that of buildings
Precise and rhythmic
Grandeur and right
My poetry is the salt
Of my sea
The curve of her spine
When I touch her shoulders
My ink is moonshine
At midnight
Your pen is a hammer
Or nail
For your structure you are
Better than I
With your knowledge andÂ
Wisdom
You are better than I
And I am better than youÂ
For not knowing things like
Literature
My language is that of
Soft lovers inÂ
Hard cold beds
Adolescent and
Fervent with nothingness
