Poem -

unvarnished

I have always seen more in you than anyone else,
but in doing so,
I’ve lost myself…..
So many lines have been crossed, redrawn, and neglected yet again.
Continuous transitions from enemy to friend.
Your lack of cognition and constant attrition needs to end.
Your vocabulary,
so defamatory,
brings me sorrow and woe...
Leaving tears and holes in my soul that widen with each blow.
Somehow, I must now escape the fate of this unvarnished show:
try to hide from my tarnished pride but with nowhere to go.
