THE VEIL OF TRANSFORMATION

The beautiful flowers
May wilt tonight,
The hapless birds
May hide with fright;
Here in the bar room
A thought peeps into life,
Is it but possible
To escape life’s realities.
A small child cuddles
With tattered clothing
Under the street light
And shivers with fear.
A stray street dog
Keeps barking somewhere,
It breaks the eerie silence
And instills more fears.
Here in the pub
Intoxicated with wine,
The luxuries of life
Are enjoyed as the ultimate.
Someone sings
Someone dances
Someone plays the tune
Someone drinks the wine
Perhaps some others
Like me emotionally lift
The veils of transformation
In search of a meaning of life
And its co-relation with wine.Â
