Virtue, The Princess of Fogo Island, In Newfoundland

Come my way
sweet summer
I've been too long waiting
bring sunsets that sink
to the bottom of the sea
and the sound of pebbles
moving in the tide
bake me clams
and boil me a pot of lemongrass tea
tell stories of the ancient mariners
and Viking ships and their spirits;
how they come out from the mist
just to view the land.
While the fire warms my fingers.
And on a beach in Newfoundland
Virtue waits for me
in her yellow blouse with buttons
and she brings my soul alive and free
with her easy smile
and sleepy blue eyes, so sassy
and she hands me a blanket
and a bottle of wine
and a picnic basket
and takes me by the hand
to her secret place
down the path of sand dunes
crashing waves
and wild flowers
where the icebergs float in July
like a chilling wind you feel their presence
softly appearing over your shoulder
and it's bad luck not to share a kiss;
before they go back to the mist
cause they say the ghosts they carry
will follow you home...

Hey Chris, Great write, I loved these lines
"and she hands me a blanket

Nice one. Warm regards. Cheers.
Extraordinary Mamma Jamma!!........you have painted the kind of poetic painting that is so enticing that through my minds eye I wanted to walk right into it........just for the experience of it........I could nearly smell the smells and see the "sleepy blue eyes.." that leads to "..the secret place down the path....."......wow......you are such a creative maestro with words bro......a fable come to life...........well done........ PINNED..........high fives!!..........T xo

A tale of fantastic Court turned into a love poem, I love the story from beginning until the end, but I emphasize the initial part.

Everything about this Christopher is spectacular. Your original formatting, your attention to detail with such great imagery my senses sensed what you describe in a sensual flow that is just wonderful. I enjoyed all of it but I absolutely love this line.
