Vision

Vision

As I spent the summer
day staining a deckĀ
in the oppressive sweaty humidity
across town,

I envisioned theĀ
marinading steak
in the fridg
I was going to
to slowly and purposely
savor for dinner.

When I came home,
there was my 250 pound renter
finishing MY steak at
the picnic table on my deck.

It was then I identified
with the Colonials
starting an American
Revolution over theĀ
Quartering Act ofĀ
British soldiers in
colonial's homes and
slept in their beds and
atethe food
of the oppressed.
