Visionessence: Follow Me...

Don't ask,
Don't look,
Don't even,
Speak:
I am tired and torn from the day,
Restless and worn,
Yet when I see you,
I can be tranquil again;
I fall at your side,
"I'm so tired..."
Can't even honor you,
With a playful smile;
She understands, however,
And as my head rests,
In her soft lap,
She strokes my head with her hands,
And whispers her romance in my ear;
I fall to sleep for a spell,
Awaken shortly after,
And she is still there,
Looking lovely;
Standing up, I lift her to me,
I kiss her with all emotion of gratitude,
And speak softly to her,
The sweet words of my heart;
Suddenly, my eyes are darkened,
And the world is calm,
For she has blindfolded me yet again,
"Follow me..."
She takes my hand,
Her soft fingers trembling lightly,
And as I follow the sound of her bare feet,
Striding across the warm grass;
Winds wrap around us,
Dancing like partners in the airy ballroom,
And still, I follow her,
Trusting;
About the time the sun is gentle,
And the rushing waters are loud,
She leads me to sit beside a stream,
And unties the blindfold;
She lays against me,
And I hold her close,
Until she sleeps away her own fatigue,
And I give my shirt as her pillow;
Kneeling at her feet,
I cup the waters of the stream,
And wash the soles that tread the harsh lands,
Back to their clean glow;
For this is my honor to do such,
To be allowed to,
And lifting her once more,
I nestle beneath her again;
For there we sleep and wait,
Resting from the world's labor,
Giving us our time together,
That I shall cherish ever more;
And I smile,
For it was the trust that moved me,
And all she said to me was,
"Follow me;"
