Visits With My Angels

Last night twice you came to me, in dreams that warmed my heart;
In both I held you closely, saying, “We are never going to part”!
I stroked your back and kissed your face, you stood on your hind legs;
“Please don’t leave me Nico”, I heard myself you beg!

But all too soon in both of them, you began to fade away;
I awoke with both arms empty, to begin this newest day!
Another one without you, aching for your dear love;
But so long ago, you sailed away, to the Heavens up above!

Your little brother Cody, was not with you in this dream;
But most of them you’re together, still an inseparable team!
Your visit will fill my thoughts now, until the next most beautiful night;
When you, your brother, or both of you, return to ease my plight!
