Poem -

VOICE OF A SINNER

A CRY OF DESPERATION

VOICE OF A SINNER

I feel as though I am forsaken
Left in the deserts heat
My lips are parched my mind confused
And my tongue unable to speak

The desert wind joined hand
With the dust of the ground
They pursue and overtakes me
I eat the dust of the ground for food
And my eyes are dried of it's tears

My voice is silenced
By reason of my grief
And I am reminded
That the wages of sin is death

Is it too later to repent from my wicked ways
Can this sinner get the attention of God
Is there an advocate that can argue on my behalf
Or must I suffer twice as a man
Then be swallowed up by the wrath of his word

Have mercy on me O sovereign God
And spare me from the wages
Of my disobedience
Remember that I a nothing but dust
As this sinners voice cries out in repentance.

What a humbling depiction of a sinner seeking forgiveness and grace...and in his humility I am sure God grants it and would want him to rise and know his sins are as far as the east is to the west...Great dramatic scene, Wilford!  Excellent. xo ;)
