Void

My heart breaks a little more each time I see your smile; knowing you’re so far away makes me cry awhile.

I hate this feeling of emptiness I feel; twisting my mind making me forget what’s real.

I feel it coming back, that dark cold lonely thing; coming for what’s left of me, forever I feel its sting.

Your smile makes me flutter high with joy; then with sudden realization I’m thrown back to emptiness, oh joy.

Forget the colors of the world and the light of the day; for my dark emptiness will swallow it away.

This thing inside of me; this void, is now a part of me, something I can’t avoid.

Falling faster, forever down I go; waiting for your warm embrace, though it never comes, this I know.

I once thought that I wasn’t too far gone for aid, but that foolish thought took hold of me, and my emotions dearly paid.

Oh never ending darkness, where shall we go? We’re both cold blooded, our hearts as cold as snow.
