Waiting For The Letter

Woman in white crepe –de- chine dress
Waits in the shadows of her gallery,
Looking for a letter to be delivered
An empty yellow boat is floatingÂ
Down by the sun scorched river,Â
Rope tied to the stump, pulling taunt Â
Coconut tree wilts, as if in need of shade
Clouds run by, in the azure sky
The woman thinks she hears something
Looks down the road to the corner,   Â
Sees a barefoot boy walking his goats
Heading down to market; it’s Friday
She’s hoping for some good news today
 Heart beating faster and faster
 Blows on her hands anxious,
Looks to the sky flashing a prayer    Â
Then retreats back to the shadows

Thanks Mirela, my keyboard is screwed right now, or is it the site; not sure but it's frustrating as hell right now to type
Hi Chrisy,
Amazing writing. Powerful in detail and well written, straight to the point. The expression in it took me into the journey of imagining the patience of just waiting and patience is what we need to see progress. Loving it Chris. I felt every word.
