A Walk In The Park

I walk to the water's edge
Towards the sound of the river
Beyond the tall trees
And bending of the underbrush.
My body tired from the weight
When the world closes down on me
It's there I feel the hand of magic;
What some may call magic;
What some may call
The presence of the God
of love and mercy
Whose existence---
I can no longer debate or query
Touching my eyes
Removing the cataract
From my darkened vision
Waiting patiently to take my burdens
And loose them to the wind

Hey Cherie, how are you? Thanks for saying all those things, I appreciate your words very much, I love walking in nature and all that, it's one of the few things that calms me down, lol....the weather is so perfect now....yes we have a poetry ministry happening at the church that I'm part of; not sure why they wanted me to be a part of that, my work is all over the place, from erotica to finding God, oh boy! maybe I can combine those two themes in one poem one day (drumrole) lol; kidding.....hey I'm about to go read 'Liberty Magazine' until I fall asleep, thanks again for your amazing commentary, I honoured that you felt the moment, it really is all about moments and how they impact us, have great evening sis. The Premier Poet of Cosmo; I call you that to bug me lol, you probably don't believe that, but nonetheless the ting is true...cheers
Sparrowsong,
thank you
Please move a little closer

Heart felt... I'd like to go to that park too. :-) Wonderfully written Chris. I felt every word. I found myself in that park spiritually. Loved it. :-) Thank you for sharing Icon Poet.
Thank you for that comment, Bridgette it's encouraging, honestly I haven't written much recently, I don't really feel overly inspired, but us Icon poets, lol... have to at least try to make a contribution; however small....hey I'll give you directions to the park if you like, but I'm sure it's not as nice as Africa....cheers
Your writing is stimulating and well conceived ! Thank you for sharing ! :)
thanks Richard,
:) Thank you !
Flower! Aren't you just the sweetest, yes I enjoy the park as well; in summer on a perfect day; not too hot not to cold, my favourite is High Park in Toronto; lots to do, Shakespearian plays at night, almost no pervs to worry about anymore, and good ice cream! Yes a good place to find spiritual revival; especially the weekends, I feel....glad you enjoyed, or got inspired, cheers pal.....ttyl
Hey Mamma Jamma!!..........can't believe I almost missed this...........you have a gift for painting imagery with your magical quill..........this read like a prayer to me..........where the healing of blindness was granted...........and the giving of a souls burdens found some relief in the magic of nature's divine wisdom.........."just walking through the park and reminiscing" (love that song).........this really has the ring of religious truth to it...........beautifully delivered.........and VERY Godly...........you're a consistent surprise to me..........perhaps enigmatic would be a better word............anyway.............always a pleasure brother!!.........Love and Rockets!!............T xo
My computer just crashed again, T, I love technology lol....how the heck are you bro? my magical quill, wow thanks, hey I love that song Reminiscing by the little river band, I think....the trumpet is intoxicating, they had a few hits back in the good old seventies, great band....I was a bit hesitant to post a poem that sounds a bit like Pantheism, I have some traditional religious beliefs, but what the heck, God after all is everywhere and most certainly we can connect to God in nature where the mind seems more clear, hey thanks for comment pal, will talk later...stay well love and rockets my bed is calling
Barry that sounds amazing man, I spent my childhood in a sub division in Trinidad, glad to bring back memories pal, thanks....have a good evening
