Walking On A Rainbow

Walking On A Rainbow

While walking by the swaying trees,
I note the dance of rustling leaves.
They fall and dress the verdant ground,
   Where rainbow colors now abound.
My steps alight on autumn's gown
   Of yellow, gold, and orange-brown.
The fallen leaves, with hues of red,
Are crimson tears that fall has shed.
I then begin to think of you
And wish that we had shared the view.
You would enjoy this morning's walk
Atop the rainbow while we talk.
