Walking On A Rainbow

Walking On A Rainbow

While walking by majestic trees,
I pause to view the rustling leaves.
They fall and dress the verdant ground
   With rainbow colors all around.
My steps alight on autumn's gown
   Of yellow, gold, and orange-brown.
The fallen leaves, in hues of red,
Are crimson tears the trees have shed.
I then begin to think of you
And wish that you could share my view.
You would enjoy this morning's walk
Atop the rainbow while we talk.
