WALKING ON TRAIN TRACKS

Innocence in danger
But what is danger
To the mind of a child
Playing with fireÂ
So sparks can fly upwardsÂ
A slithering snake catches the eyes
Changing colors as the sun reflectsÂ
On this beautiful venomous friend
Who's beauty conceals it's true intentionsÂ
And wisdom is beyond reachÂ
Adulthood has arrivedÂ
But the games continuesÂ
Chances are taken endangering a friendÂ
Playing with death unaware of the end
Maturity and adulthoodÂ
Sometimes are foes
Senselessly walking on train tracksÂ
Rejecting the deafening soundÂ
And thunderous roar.
