Walking Victim Bridge

Almost At the Other Side

I.

How should we proceed in this dance?

You want a safe space, yet you aren't a safe person

I get it; you're hurting

But it's not going to help if you keep playing with the curtain

Open and shut

Drawing close then pushing back

Dressing up in pristine white then vomiting your acid black

II.

Your bile burns the eyes of those who only mean well

You decapitate the knees of every sincere sentinel

Clip the wings of every aiding angel

Screaming "anti-Semite" and "Nazi" in my face

Unaware you are crucifying your own race

Messiah is Judaean so lets not forget

And also a Sabaean of Abraham's kin

But you can't accept that yet

I am not your enemy and neither is the sky

You are slashing at a canvas that is in fact your better eye

Take the other one with the log in it and pluck it fucking out

Maybe then you'll get a clearer sense of what this is all about

III.

I have been abused too

I have been aching sore

But let's remember it's the rich who ignored this

Not the limping poor

The treasures you see in me now

Were sown into my scars

I'm not pretending that my shit don't stink, or that I come from Mars

My blood is just as yours but I think you've been deceived

Each of us a garden with good, bad and rotting evil seed

You say you don't wish to feed the bear but I think your bear wears a lion's mask

You tell me to man up but you've yet to demonstrate that you know how to do that task

It's not the time to say "practice what you preach"

I just want you to speak plain

Are you angry that they raped you

Why wouldn't that be ok?

I know it doesn't mean you're gay

So stop projecting onto my brain

I don't look at you for your distorted image

The child defiled who's lost his divine vista

I see you as a damaged cosmos struggling to shine it's light

And all I'm trying to say to that is hold on to the good cause everything gunna be alright

IV.

I've been there too and I'm not so far ahead

Seems like yesterday I was as good as dead

But now I've learnt to make meaning from the chaos in my head

Archetypes that redeem us

Motifs that free us

But it's up to you if you want to shift the discourse

Or remain in a tomb without Jesus
