Don't have your inner peace depend upon
What others might say
For it is within the righteousness
Of walking your own path each day,
In the humble awareness
That you're doing things your own way
Where the softest of pillows
Upon which your head might lay,
Speaks to you of the generosity
You have imparted to others that day
And lulls you into the softest sleep
Where, what other men might say
Matters not,
For you have turned the nonsensical away
And that, my fair-minded friend
Is where the hidden truth
Revealed in dreams,ย does lay
And true genius
Comes into play,
Through a subconscious parlay
With the Universal Mind,
Manifesting wisdom
In your path's
Daily,

I am often worried about what others think but it's more like I am proud of what I'm doing and want to connect with people through it, I am often told not to worry the ones who need to see it will so I use that alone to stay motivatedย

Hi Tony, this is a very interesting poem. I am basically a free verse person guy because it allows me to be free to do whatever you with metaphors, and rhyming poems tends to limits your ability to use them; however, I was impressed in how you were able to rhyme and use metaphors well in a poem that possesses a very powerful meaning. Overall, Excellent job!

I think I might need to give this to my friend to read. I tell him to be himself time and time again and not to worry about what anyoneย else has to say but that's all he does is worry about how other people see him. He also compares himself to much to others and basing his success off of theirs and if they're a year younger than him they are doing so much better in life. I actually had a whole long discussion with him about it today. He has a very damaged soul. I really like this poem and its message, pinned, and all stars as usual :)ย

The first line had me. I often worry about what others say about me, tho I try not to. I'm slowly getting better at not. Your poem is a nice reminder of how what others think and say is not important, for we are on our own path, and, in the end, that's all that matters.
